Sonnys was founded in 2019 with the dream of creating a go-to destination for stylish clothing and sneakers. The idea was inspired by Sonny Koussan, who at just 16 years old started driving from Detroit to distant Nike outlets to sell sneakers outside his father's shop in Grand Rapids. Sonny always had a passion for fashion and entrepreneurship, with a special love for Jordans (pictured above in his favorite J's with arms wide alongside brother Ali) and he worked tirelessly to make his dream of owning his own clothing and sneaker shop a reality.

Unfortunately, Sonny passed away at the young age of 28. But his memory lives on through his younger brother, Ali, who wanted to honor Sonny's legacy by bringing his vision to life. In 2019, the first Sonny's location was opened in Grand Rapids, and the business has since expanded to West Dearborn and Novi.

Today, Sonny's is a tribute to the hard work and dedication of its namesake, and a celebration of his passion for fashion and entrepreneurship.
